Mass ECAN News - Conferences & Resources

Mass ECAN News

Happy first day of Spring! Every so often, we'll be sending updates specifically relevant to Mass ECAN members. We’re not interested in duplicating the great e-newsletters that already exist, but we will pass along news and conversation about climate adaptation in Massachusetts, including:

See below for Conferences, sharing your publications, the latest State Plan workshops, and other updates!

We'll be actively seeking your input as we develop resources and build this community together. If you missed our 2018 Next Steps, revisit them here.

Pass this message along to colleagues and encourage them to join us. At any point, feel free to reach out to massecan@umass.edu with ideas.

Best,

Melissa Ocana
Climate Adaptation Coordinator, UMass Amherst

Conferences

Conference season is here! We've compiled a list of conferences where you can share your climate adaptation work, learn about the work of others, and connect with your peers. Hope to see you out there!

Planning Ahead -
Mass ECAN 2018 Conference

We are scouting future Fall conference locations! We'd love to host in partnership with a member organization, as we did with MassWildlife last year. Do you know of a low cost or *free* venue, ideally in central Mass, that can hold 100 people? All suggestions are encouraged and appreciated. We're looking forward to planning the conference with you!
New Resources Page

There's a new place to find "Resources" on our website! We'll be uploading materials we've created or curated to this collective space for Mass ECAN members. We'll add resources that were created specifically for this Network to the "From Mass ECAN" tab as they become available.

If you shared materials during our Fall conference, we'd like to offer you an opportunity to showcase them on the "From Member Orgs" page. These climate adaptation materials and publications can be submitted to massecan@umass.edu this month. Later this year, we'll collect additional resources to share in preparation for the next Fall conference.

Why am I getting this email?
Welcome to Mass ECAN!

You are receiving this email because you joined Mass ECAN.
Welcome to a new community of practice for climate adaptation practitioners and researchers who are interested in ecosystem resilience and natural resources conservation in Massachusetts. Since launching in October, we've grown to 145 members.

Mass ECAN is creating a space for us to learn from and with each other. Together, we can build capacity for climate adaptation that promotes ecosystem resilience and weaves natural resources conservation into actions across sectors.
